The expansion also features a new PvE activity on the Moon called "Night Hunts", which are unlocked after completing the main campaign of Shadowkeep; they emphasize powerful Nightmare enemies with a Nightmare boss at the end. The activity has four new difficulty modes-Adept, Hero, Legends, and Master- with brand new, preset modifiers. The hero version of the activity released on October 15 and 22, respectively. Nightmare Hunts awards "Nightmare Essences", material which are required to craft new weapons and equipment through different NPC called the Lectern of Enchantment. A new version of the PvE Nightfall strike activity called "Nightfall: The Ordeal" was released; The Ordeal features a weekly rotating Nightfall punch with the Adept, Hero, Legends and Master difficulty modes as well (also with a preset modifier) and can award exotic weapons and gear as well as upgrade materials. Unlike the regular Nightfall activity, matchmaking is included in the Ordeal but only on the Adept and Hero difficulties. Legacy Nightfall strikes also remain available for all players.
The armor system of Destiny 2 received a major overhaul with Shadowkeep. The ''Armor 2.0" system rebuilds many of the functional aspects of the former armor system, allowing players more customization and control over their character and their armor. Armor 2.0 allows the player to use an "energy system" within each armor piece in order to equip armor mods; each mode acquired can be reused indefinitely, which provides for more experimentation and customization. The mode comes either as a general mode or elemental mod. The elemental mod must have the same energy type in order for them to be equipped. General mods, however, can be equipped as normal. Each mode has more energy cost to them depending on its type, purpose and powerful they are; the player can upgrade protection sections to increase their energy capacity to allow for the use of more powerful mods, and armor pieces get a miniature stat boost when they are fully upgraded.
Shadowkeep also includes "finishers" as a new gameplay experience. These new techniques put a marker superior competitors when their health is below a certain threshold, which indicates that they can be finished off. Functionally these moves can be modified through armor mods that make the abilities more powerful or provide different types of benefits to the player. These benefits come at a cost; for example, being made vulnerable during the move animation, or missing some super energy. Image result for Destiny 2: Shadowkeep
The expansion also brings back artifacts, a gameplay features that basically introduced to the first Destiny with The Taken King development and expanded upon in Rising of Iron, but has been absent from Destiny 2. With the release pf the Shadowkeep, artifacts are seasonal applications that at the end of each season players lose their current artifacts and associated mods and gain a new one at the commencement of a new season. The player is able to enhance their character and gameplay abilities by leveling up their artifacts through winning experience points
The power level cap raised to 960 upon the expansion's release; new and existing player, Power levels were automatically increased to the new least Power level of 750 upon the release of both Shadowkeep and the New Light account of the base game. Bungie also made some changes to Power continuation in Shadowkeep-Prime Engrams, which were first introduce in Forsaken and granted gear implemented a large boost to Player power levels are now awarded that player reach power level 900. Player accrue Prime Enagram Charges while increasing their power level from 750 to 900 while allowing Prime Engram to drop more often once the soft level cap of 900 is reached. Legendary hardware and gear purchased for accidental drops throughout conventional gameplay now have a chance to drop at player contemporary Power levels.
Players also have access to "seasonal ranks", which work likewise to the battel approaches in Fortnite and Apex Legends. Seasonal classes are distributed onto the free track and premium track granted compensation at any given tier; there is 100 tier for both tracks. Seasons transferring holders have access to both the free and selected tracks as well as the season-exclusive protection gear, general ornaments, and exotic quest. Bungie stated that there are plans for the player to purchase a periodically level boost ere the end of the season.
Shadowkeep focuses on Eris Morn, who had perished from the tower and reminded absent since the events of the Red War. The Guardian is requested to the moon by administration Zavala into interference originating from a massive citadel erected by the Hive near the Hellmouth denominated the Scarlet Keep.
The Guardian gives Eris Nightmare essence from when they first encountered the Nightmare of Corat with which eris forges a percentage of armor that would support the Guardian detour the Pyramid's barrier and contribute to the Pyramid. Eris then commands the Guardian to defeat the Nightmare of Omnigul Will of Crota in order to collect more Nightmare character to which the Guardian does.
It shows that the more Phantoms of deceased of Guardians have appeared before Eris while the Guardians was fulfilling tasks for her Eris revaels that delusions envelope her are those of her former fireteam hand took on Crota prior to the events of  The Dark Below.
If left standing, however, the Undying Mind could use its unimportant directive to destroy the Traveler. Ikora suggests the Guardian to proceed to support in fending off and contemplating further Vex incursions on the Moon and reducing down their mobilization in the Black Garden while she devises a plan to find the Undying Mind and end the aggression once and for all.
